1 Year Old...

Miss Lyss at 1 year old...

*You LOVE to smile and laugh!  You are the happiest little girl and I could just listen to your giggle all day long!
*You are still a huge mommy's girl, but you are warming up to daddy quite a bit.  When you and your big sister hear the door unlock at the end of the day you shoot straight off my lap and get to him as fast as you can!
*You love the bathroom.  You love the toilet.  You love playing in both of them and it keeps me on my toes all day trying to keep you out of them!
*You love to take baths and would play in there for hours with Caitlin if I would let you.
*You are walking all over the place now and started really taking steps about 2 weeks after your first birthday!
*You have 8 teeth, 4 top 4 bottom, and two molars coming in.  You have been pretty miserable the last few weeks and I know you are in pain:(
*You love when I hold you and vacuum at the same time.  If I do it long enough it will usually put you right to sleep.
*You love to snuggle and give hugs and kisses.  You are such a loving little girl.  You love the stroller and baby doll you got for your birthday from mommy and daddy.  You already love acting like a little mom.
*Your word of choice is "da!".  This translates to anything you might need in the moment and is usually accompanied by a serious look on your face and pointing your finger.
*You love to stick out your tongue and spit.  You also love giving "zurbits" on our cheeks.
*You are still napping two times a day.
*You have a very stubborn, feisty side at times and you do not give up easily when there is something you want.
*You love to listen to music and will bounce and shake your hands anytime you hear it.
*You love when mommy holds you and dances with you.  You will get the biggest smile on your face.
You are such a light in our lives, Lyss.  You bring so much love and joy to our family and we have enjoyed every single minute of this last year watching you grow and become the little angel you are.
Happy Birthday Lulabelle...We love you forever!!

Halloween 2012...

Once again, Halloween did not disappoint this year...we had some really fun parties (one with our playgroup, one with our ward and one with the Vet School) and the girls looked adorable!  Little Miss was the cutest Snow White I have ever seen and Miss Lyss was our sweet little bug:)  We had a lot of fun this year, however, on Halloween day Little Miss was really sick and for the 3rd year in a row, she was not able to go trick or treating due to an illness.  She has officially never trick or treated here in Pullman...maybe next year??

Sesame Street Live...

Jeff and I decided to take the girls to breakfast one Saturday morning and while we were there a sweet lady came over to our table and gave us 4 tickets to the Sesame Street Live show.  Jeff had been wanting to take the girls so it worked out perfect that we ended up getting to go!

Little Miss and Lyss stood pretty much the entire time (besides when Little Miss was dancing all over the place)...they loved it and I am so glad we got the chance to take them!

Flavors of Fall...

Our friends, Matthew and Charlene, had us and the Hansen's over to make caramel apples earlier this month and we had so much fun!  This was our first time making caramel apples with the girls and I was pretty impressed with everyone's dipping skills:)

This last one was the one I made, the "special" apple.  Don't be fooled by it's appearance though...it tasted pretty darn good!

My Little Miss...

There is absolutely nothing we don't love about this fast moving, loud talking, animal growling, spirited dancing, music loving, bike riding, Lyssa kissing, tantrum throwing, dress-up wearing, friend loving, early rising, bed invading, movie watching, prayer saying, food loving, tender hearted daddy's girl we know as Little Miss.  She is definitely one of a kind and we are so glad she's ours.

11 Months...

 Miss Lyss at 11 months...

*You are the happiest little girl!  You love to giggle, smile and you are turning into quite the little tease!
*Anytime you want to carry something and crawl or stand up, you will put the item in your mouth and hold it there.  It is so cute!!  You will crawl around with a doll hanging out of your mouth...I love it!
*You are so close to walking!  If you aren't paying attention to what you are doing you will stand all by yourself.  You walk around furniture and anything you can pull yourself up on.
*You have the word "momma" mastered.
*You LOVE your big sister.  You love to take her toys, you love to make her yell, you love to scream so I will come "save" you from her.  But mostly, you just love playing with her, wrestling with her and being everywhere she is:)
*You are sleeping really well.  You sleep 8-9 hours every night.
*You love my cell phone!  You will grab it and put it right up to your ear and just jabber away!
*You love to eat and you will eat pretty much anything I feed you now...hopefully you will be an awesome eater like your sister.
*You are still a momma's girl and I still love it.
*You love playing in the bathroom!  I have definitely learned to keep the door shut.
*You love going for walks in the stroller with your big sister.
*You still have 7 teeth but I am expecting more to pop out anytime...
*You are still a feisty little thing!!  Your daddy blessed you with "a strong will" in your baby blessing so I am pretty sure this is a trait you will have for the long haul and I better learn to love it:)
*You love to look at books and your big sister is really good at giving you the "Lyss approved" books.

You are getting so big and you are such a beautiful little girl inside and out!  We love you lots Miss Lyss!!

Moments To Remember...

Jeff, the girls and I went into C's room tonight to just spend time as a family talking, laughing and reading books.  C and A are so lucky to have a daddy like Jeff.  He loves them so much and always wants to spend as much time as he can with them.  After Jeff read a couple of books to C he had to leave for a meeting for his calling, so I tucked her in and told her that I would come back in to check on her after I got A to sleep.  I went into my room to get A to sleep and she was having a really hard time relaxing and just kept getting more upset.  After about 20 minutes of trying to get her to sleep I saw my bedroom door open and C's head popped in.  A immediately became completely alert looking around for her sister.  Usually, I would get really frustrated and tell C to get back to her room, but tonight I just let her come in and climb up on the bed with us.  C asked if she could sing a song to A and at this point I figured since A wasn't going to sleep anytime soon she might as well, so she started to sing.  First, she sang a made up song and rubbed A's head and kissed her cheek through the whole thing.  And then she started to sing "I am like a star", one of her primary songs and I was amazed to see that A started to relax and was already drifting off to sleep.  C sang it one more time and A was completely out.  C looked up at me smiling and whispered, "Did she fall asleep because of my singing??"  It made me so grateful that I didn't jump to my normal reaction and that I just let my two little girls have that moment with each other.  I am so lucky to get to be their mom.
